Choosing the Right Needle--

For counted thread work, there is a variance on the recommended size needle required. In general, find a needle that works for YOU; the needle should just barely push the threads of the fabric apart. Although some needles are labeled "cross stitch," they are very similar to "tapestry" needles; you want a blunt-tipped needle which will move the threads of the ground fabric apart instead of piercing them.
