A hand dyed 3-strand pima cotton with the versatility of Persian wool. 162 exquisite, variegated colors. Use on all forms of needlework, including needlepoint, cross stitch, tatting, Hardanger, and crewel. For best effect, use with decorative stitches or Bargello patterns; or place stitches in random patterns, to avoid the appearance of horizontal and diagonal stripes. This variegated thread is also excellent for creating special effects, such as seascapes, shrubbery, fields, etc—wherever there is a need for color frequent color changes and highlights. Good sheen when used with long, flat stitches. One ply is about the same weight as #5 pearl cotton, or six plies of cotton floss or one ply of Persian wool.

Usage: 1 ply for 18 count canvas; two plies for 13-14 canvas; 1 ply for cross stitch on 11-20 count fabric or 2 over 2 cross stitch on 18 count fabric.
